Our Impact

The state of Georgia is home to a large number of people with brain and spinal cord injuries who are uninsured and have limited access to healthcare. People without health insurance coverage often do not have access to needed rehabilitation services after discharge from the hospital which may affect their health and wellness as well as limit recovery.

Expanding the footprint of two established RSVP clinics in the US (Colorado and Texas), Georgia RSVP recognizes a need of uninsured individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries in our Georgia community who lack access to rehabilitation services. In 2019, a group of rehabilitation professionals in Georgia joined together with the vision to create a clinic where they could volunteer their time and skills to provide care to these patients. We are excited about the impact this clinic has made and will continue to make in the community.

Receiving the 2023 Distinguished Public Service Health Equity and Advocacy Award from the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

We are proud to announce that the RSVP clinics (Georgia, Texas and Colorado) received the 2023 Distinguished Public Service Health Equity and Advocacy Award from the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. We have worked hard the last three and a half years to have over 70 volunteers and have served over 70 clients. We had our annual strategic planning meeting where the Award was presented to our Board and our Advisory Board. We could not have been as successful without them!
